English as a New Language, B.A.

The English as a New Language (ENL) major provides the candidate with the preparation necessary to help English Language Learners from pre-K through Grade 12.  Teacher candidates will learn the skills and strategies necessary to assist English Language Learners in developing their English language and academic skills.  Coursework will focus on addressing the needs of those for whom English is not the first language.  This ENL degree provides the candidate with the tools needed to perform in multiple teaching contexts, including push-in/pull-out models, multi-lingual classrooms, and immersion settings.
