MATH 281 Mathematics for Teachers I

This course is the first in a two-part course sequence designed to review elementary and prerequisite math content in preparation for ELED 425. Topics covered include: numbers and the decimal system, fractions, arithmetic operations and their application to fractions, decimals, and negative numbers. Emphasis will be placed on conceptual understanding, as well as the creation of a learning community which will promote critical thinking and collaborative problem -solving skills.
