Undergraduate Program Offerings
Accelerated Programs
Accelerated courses generally meet online or weekday evenings on campus. On campus classes are held in four-hour blocks of time for 7 weeks. Entire degree programs in Business, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Organizational Management are offered in a nontraditional, accelerated format on campus.
Prior Learning Assessment
Students in Adult undergraduate programs who have acquired college-level learning and/or competencies through professional training or significant life experience may validate this knowledge through the Prior Learning Assessment program. The program utilizes essays, examinations and other forms of documentation to petition for credit through qualified faculty evaluators. The essay process cannot be used for teacher certification programs. A fee per semester hour credit is charged; see the section on Tuition and Fees. Admission Steps for Students in Adult Undergraduate Programs
- Submit an application online at www.betheluniversity.edu/apply.
- Have your high school transcript or GED/HSE/TASC scores sent to the Adult and Graduate studies office unless you have earned 30 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Have official transcripts from each college or university attended sent to the Adult and Graduate Studies office. If you have military credit, submit a copy of your military transcript.
- Fulfill university proficiency requirements in reading, math and English. Ask an enrollment counselor to determine your status.
- Complete the FAFSA (if applying for financial aid) using school code 001787.
- Submit your Fianacial Agreement form to the Office of Admission.
- Schedule a registration appointment with an enrollment counselor.
Policies regarding GED/HSE and CLEP can be found in the traditional admission section of this catalog. International students should contact the Office of Admission directly to determine adult admission requirements. Students who have previously attended Bethel University should submit a re-enrollment form.
Admission to Adult Undergraduate Programs
Admission decisions may be based upon unofficial documents. Decision criteria will be re-evaluated as official documents are received. If minimum requirements are not met, the student may be admitted on one or both of the following:
Provisional Admission
Applicants may be admitted provisionally if all official documents are not submitted by the point of acceptance. The student will have one semester to present the required documentation and can communicate with their academic advisor with questions.
Probation Admission
Based upon academic preparation, applicants with a cumulative GPA below 2.0(4.0) may be admitted on probation and have certain requirements to aid in the transition to Bethel. Students on probation may have restrictions on coursework, and must earn a 2.0(4.0) in their first semester at Bethel to be removed from probationary status.
