ELED 331 Reading & Language Arts Methods II

This course utilizes a comprehensive approach to explicit literacy instruction and builds upon the knowledge from the prerequisite Reading & Language Arts Methods I.  Teacher candidates will acquire a deeper understanding of vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and writing.  This course will provide opportunities to apply the principles of explicit and systematic instructional methods and the essential role these have on skilled reading and writing.  This course has a required lab component with 15 hours of fieldwork.  Teacher candidates are required to pass this course with a minimum of a B- or higher.  Teacher candidates must successfully complete the lab component to pass this course.  LAB:  ELED 331L
