Federal and State Programs

Federally financed programs of student aid administered by the university include the Pell Grant, the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) and Work Study. Eligibility for these programs is based on financial need. Application is made through the FAFSA.

Frank O’Bannon Grant Program is offered by the Division of Student Financial Aid (SFA) of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education to Indiana residents who are enrolling full-time. Application is made through the FAFSA. April 15 is the deadline for application.

Federal Direct Loan Programs are long-term educational loans made by the federal government. Inquiry as to terms or repayment and eligibility can be made to the office of financial aid or by visiting betheluniversity.edu/loans.

Department of Veterans Affairs Education Benefits - An individual who has met admission requirements and is entitled to educational assistance under Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, or Chapter 33, Post-9/11 GI Bill®  and Yellow Ribbon benefits will be permitted to attend or participate in the course of study once Bethel University has received a Certificate of Eligibility or Statement of Benefits indicating entitlement of education assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  Bethel University will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, library, or other institutional facilities, or require that a covered individual borrow additional funds on any covered individual because of the inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under Chapter 31 or 33 (including Yellow Ribbon).
