Description of Master of Education (M.Ed.) Program
The M.Ed. program is designed for candidates who already have a valid teaching license or are able to secure one and have completed an undergraduate degree in education. The M.Ed. program will help candidates meet professional development goals and bring current research into practice in their schools. To earn the M.Ed., a candidate must complete 36 credit hours. The M.Ed. program allows the candidate to pursue additional licensure or an area of study (cognates). Licensure areas include School Administration, Special Education, and English as a New Language (ENL). Cognate areas include Literacy, School Leadership, and Generalist.
