BIOL 220 Clinical Microbiology

This course in microbiology is presented from a clinical perspective. Lecture and lab material coincide to enable students to classify and identify various microorganisms and diagnose the disorders which they cause. Culturing, staining, and testing techniques will be emphasized. The first section of the course is intended to introduce some of the basic biology in order to build a foundation for later topics, which will organize the study of microorganisms by the bodily systems that are affected.
