BIOL 126 General Biology:Botany and Zoology

This course covers classification and phylogeny of organisms and provides an overview of the biodiversity of eukaryotic organisms, including protists, plants, fungi, and animals.  Reproduction and development within each kingdom will be discussed along with characteristics used to classify major phyla.  Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate comprehension of life at the organismal level.  This is a major-level course and is not considered a general education course for non-majors.  Three hours and lecture and three hours of lab per week.  Lab: BIOL 126L
