SPED 505 Foundations, Theories, Laws, Professional Values and Ethics
This course focuses on the history, definition of special education, theories, current research, trends, ethical issues, legislation and litigation concerning individuals with mild disabilities. Etiology and characteristics of persons who differ from the norm are explored within the context of human growth and development across the life span. It provides professionals with knowledge and skills to serve as advocates for students in special education. During this course students will be given information regarding a required portfolio.
