Payment of Accounts
Payment in full is required by the payment due date for each enrollment period. Enrollment periods include semesters, sessions, and May term. The payment due dates for the 2023-2024 academic year are:
Traditional Undergraduate
- Fall 2023 – August 10, 2023
- Spring 2024 – December 15, 2023
- Summer 2024 - Adult/Graduate Courses
May 5, 2024 - Students enrolled in both 1st and 2nd Summer Sessions
June 30, 2024 - 2nd Session students only
- May Term/Summer 2024 –Traditional Courses classes beginning May 10th

Payments can be made by mail, online through our third-party payment service Nelnet Campus Commerce, or in person at the University Business Office during regular business hours (M-F 8:00am-5:00pm).
Payment Plans
The university offers payment plans through our third-party vendor, Nelnet Campus Commerce, which will spread the student's out-of-pocket costs across the semester. Students utilizing a payment plan must be current with their payment plan in order to register for future courses. Payment plans may be cancelled by Nelnet or Bethel University after unsuccessful payment attempts by Nelnet have caused the payment plan to become delinquent. Each unsuccessful payment attempt will incur additional fees from Nelnet.
Failure to Pay
Class registration may be invalidated and the student dropped from the university if their account is not paid in full, their payment plan becomes delinquent, or they do not have an approved exception.
Students must settle their account in full before they can:
- Attend classes for a subsequent enrollment period
- Register for future courses
- Request official transcripts
- Receive a diploma
Late Fees and Collection Costs
Student accounts with unpaid balances after the due date, which are not enrolled in a Nelnet payment plan, will be subject to a automated $100 late fee, disabled online access, or administratively dropped from the course. Students with unpaid delinquent balances that have not been satisfied by the end of the quarter will be responsible for collection costs including, but not limited to, legal fees, collection costs, or other incidental charges.
