EDUC 534 Secondary English Learner Methods
This course is designed to prepare candidates to become effective teachers to English Learners. Various instructional methods are explored that are employed to teach English to non-native speakers of grades 5-12. Topics include: commonly used methods and techniques, principles of ESL/ENL pedagogy, connections between theory and classroom practice, the roles of teachers and learners, micro-teaching, classroom management, lesson planning, content development, and building intercultural awareness.
